The Artful Eye
True confession…I am an unabashed "Maineac"! Call it a "state of mind", a throwback to an earlier time or whatever….Maine is an unique and special place. No wonder it is the primary theme in my photography. Whether it is the endless subjects relating to the sea, the classic Maine barns, the repeating seasonal rhythms of glorious Fall or the overlooked, quiet reflective quality of winter and the always inviting windows and doors,
Maine begs to be photograhed…. over and over again.
For those of you also interested in non-Maine subjects, check out the portfolios for "Architecturals", "Potpourri" and "Abstract"… they are definitely worth the look!
Another primary emphasis in my photography is subjects from everyday life…these are often overlooked, but can be a remarkable source of great beauty that can engage us both visually and emotionally.
Trying to share the excitement and surprise I felt when the shutter was pressed is my "modus operandi"….and then applying an artful eye is the ideal. So, you will see images that may be impresstionistic, "moody" or abstract.
Last, where possible, photos have been arranged in their respective portfolios so that complementary images are positioned near each other. Hopefully, this will enhance the viewing experience and help you select those photos that will look good together in your home or offfice.
Enjoy!
